What To Expect Once You Have The IPhone 3GS Smart Phone

With all of the chAT&Ter surrounding the impending release of the iPhone 5, it’s easy to forget that there are still older models like the iPhone 3GS smart phone to buy. In fact, this is a great time to purchase this particular phone since AT&T has such great deals on them these days. However, before getting this or any smart phone, you should familiarize yourself with its main features. Also, in case you’re interested in cheap VOIP, you should check out VOIPo. They are awesome.

Apple is famous for its many apps, and it still has one of the largest app stores in the world. When you buy a device such as the iPhone 3GS, you’re not only getting the built in features and capabilities, but the ability to download an endless number of apps. As new applications are released on a daily basis, there is virtually no limit to what you can do with your phone. It is so easy to download game apps that people literally have hundreds of games, like Angry Birds, on their smartphone with thousands of others to choose from. There are many news apps from newspapers and news services, such as the New York Times. Do you use Twitter? If so, you can download the app to your phone and tweet all day long. If you haven’t ever owned a smart phone, the iPhone 3GS is a really good one to get you started. It has most of the features that people love about smart phones, and iPhones in particular. To use one example, calling contacts no longer involves entering digits, you just need to tap the name that is on your screen. You also get Visual Voicemail that lets you play the messages in any order that you want to hear them. This makes it a lot more like reading an email because you do not have to listen to the messages in the order in which they were left for you.

Even though getting the iPhone 3GS Smart Phone is quite a bargain, if you get it, you might regret not waiting for the iPhone 5 or getting the more advanced iPhone 4.

You can actually decide which phone is best for you based upon how you will use your phone and the features you will need. Many people actually buy smart phones and other gadgets that are more advanced than they really need. The latest smart phones have some advantages, such as faster speeds for using apps and the ability to take better photos. iPhone 3GS is a great deal, but it cannot do more advanced things such as video calls. The market is full of different types of mobile phones and the iPhone 3GS is very appealing to people who already love using Apple’s products. To use one example, the iPhone syncs easily with iPads and iPods. Windows based computers can use them too because iTunes works on PCs too. Last but not least, if you ever need something besides cell phone service, VoIP is a great option. Don’t forget to read our in-depth VOIPo reviews.

Google Voice pushes telecommunications forward.

A respected pioneer in web technology, creating the most well liked search site in use today, Google stands at the forefront of companies pushing towards a future that’s inextricably tied to the rapidly evolving world of the web.

With some of the most brilliant minds at work under their roof, the services resulting from their ingenuity have essentially modified how we communicate with one another.  From Gmail to Google Wave, to competition that desperately plays “catch up,” proof of this company’s forward-thinking innovation abounds.

One of their more fascinating services is Google Voice, a telecommunications wonder that extends users a unique phone number from Google, to which any calls to your real phone – or, if you so choose, multiple phones will be transferred.

How it works :

* User creates ( presuming it’s not taken ) a new phonephone number or selects one from a pool of numbers made available by Google.
* Once the Google Voice number has been chosen, inbound calls to that number will be forwarded to the assigned phones.

As an example, take the following scenario as testament to the convenience afforded by Google Voice :

While in the kitchen fixing dinner, you’re waiting for a call from your brother about your sister-in-law’s pregnancy, knowing that she is due any minute.  Your cell phone, which is your primary means of communication, is upstairs.  Yet, your home is also equipped with a land line, with one phone located just a foot away from the kitchen counter.  Without knowing if you’re home or not, your brother excitedly dials your Google Voice number, leading to his call being forward to every phone assigned to it – including your land line.

With configuration requiring just some steps, use of this service is that simple, gathering our different methods of telecommunication under the umbrella of Google Voice.

Additional features include :

* Voicemail
* Call History
* Conference Calling
* Call Blocking
* Voice transcription ( translating your voice mail into text messages )
* Call transitioning, which permits you to migrate from one telephone to next in the middle of a call.

Google now lets you use your existing phone number with Google Voice, a feature that was only just announced.  Your existing number can be used together with a new Google Voice number.  To read more about this new feature, visit here
