The mobile phone is a worldwide phenomenon which is growing in stature each year.   Many people may not realise that the first mobile phones, as we know them today, first appeared in the 1970s.   Gone are the days of the 1980s where a mobile phone was as large as a brick! The mobiles of today are predominantly based on the earlier models from the 1970s onwards.

Modern technology has allowed current mobiles to be used as much more than just a telephone, as it was in the early days. It may appear to most that the older generation are stuck on using mobile phones for its primary function, whilst many teenagers are keen to use modern mobiles for much more than this.

As well as making telephone calls, in Britain and abroad, mobile phones can do a myriad of things. Text messaging is a popular use for the modern phone. It is so common, many people can use the predictive text feature with their eyes closed! It gives us a new way to communicate and can be likened to the other growing trend of messaging on the internet. It is approximated the mobile phone users send a mind-blowing 8 billion texts every day. Amazingly, more than 8 billion texts are sent from handsets every day.

Modern mobile phones also let people check rugby scores, catch up on the latest news, take pictures, listen to music and browse the internet. With the phone providers keen to have people buy their products, they are finding new uses to keep the present generation, and those to come, with a reason to buy them. Many of the modern mobile phones have features that are technologically advanced; many mobiles can read the barcodes of products, track other phones with GPS technology and even help you to ensure that the shelf you have put up is straight.

A lot of people like to make their handset more personal to them. You can download free themes and free ringtones to reflect your style and personality. There is an abundance of places where you can acquire free themes and free ringtones. You may have a phone that already has these features on the actual mobile or you may have to download them from other places. There are a lot of different free themes and free ringtones to choose and it is certain that you will find one that you want very simply. Using these methods is a superb way of making your mobile a exciting and pleasant object to use.

There is an abundance of package choices to choose from once you have bought your handset. You can employ pay-as-you-go where you top up your phone in a shop, online, via the handset or by contacting the mobile company. Alternatively you can get a monthly contract for your mobile which means you pay a set fee each month. You will find a lot of the packages you can have for your handset will offer items including free music downloads, free texts or free calls; the hope is that it encourages users to make use of their mobile in other ways apart from phoning.

Mobile phones come in all shapes, sizes, colours and patterns. And there is no need to carry brick sized handsets around anymore as many of the current phones are designed to be petite and pocket sized. With competition growing, mobile phone providers are keen to get the business and so they are making every effort to ensure that they are at the frontier of advanced technology.

Once upon a time mobile phones were used purely to send and accept calls, since then technology has evolved so much new phones are almost unrecognisable from the old brick style phones with extendable aerials, the new iphone for example has an mp3 player, camera has a crystal clear display in fact it would be easy to forget its a cellular phone as well. Phones can not only be useful but can be fun as well, they can now hold games, browse the web and of course ringtones.

A ringtone is a sound your mobile can play when you get an received call or message, this can vary from an alien zapper to a traditional tune, most people go for up-to-the-minute chart ring tones but the range and choice is much wider, you can get ringtones for every occasion. A ringtone is the name given to a sound that alerts you when a mobile phone receives an incoming call or message. On most modern phones these ringtones can be easily personalized and you can have a another tone for every caller and occasion. In fact part of the fun of customizable ringtones is the ability to be able to change them at will

There are many ways to load up new and exciting ringtones on your cell phone, You can often get them though your mobile dealer but they will charge you for the privilege, some of these involve you getting sent new ringtones on a recurring basis, but the charges can prove costly. As a result most people prefer to download free ringtones from the internet. There are many sites which provide ringtones for mobile phones be vigilant as there may be a charge attached but there are lots of sites out there from which you can simply download ringtones free of charge. There are 3 different types of ringtones you can download.

– Monophonic. This type of ringtone can only play a single note at a time (hence mono) this gives you the impression of the tune but is not that realistic
– Polyphonic. Polyphonic ringtones can play multiple notes at once, this give a more life like sound and will much more like the original
– Truetone. These are normally cutdown  versions of a song normally in mp3 format

One of my favourite sites for ringtone downloads is http://www.ringtones4all.com, here you will find mono and polyphonic ringtones, available in a large range of formats there is also logos, themes and wallpapers. The is a large ammount of ringtones to choose from.

iPhone Insurance: Fun Ringtones. Musical Ring Tones

Can you think of life without your mobile? I certainly can’t. A mobile is as vital to the majority of us as our hands. Plus just as we adorn our bodies, so we adorn our cell phone with ringtones. And ringtones are tremendous fun, too. To be sure, it is of no concern how much those people look down at those of us who like those quirky ringtones, there’s nothing like an amusing ringtone to loosen up a tedious work meeting, for instance. This text is for the intention to look at the phenomenon of ringtones, which are entertainment for the majority of us, but serious enterprise for some.

Winds of change
The days of the same monotonous ringtones on whatever mobile handset you bought are a mere memory. These days, the cell ringtone industry is a mega-million dollar empire that generates unique content all the time, and fiercely markets ringtones at you through every individual channel, most of all the Internet.

Must haves
All that you need to give yourself some cool and funky ringtones is a computer with an Internet connection. There are more websites offering free ringtone downloads than you can count, particularly the mobile phone sites. The only thing that you have to do is to load some file conversion software to allow you to change the format so you can upload to the phone.

Options unlimited
Once your basics are in place, the ringtone options at your disposal are literally unlimited, so you are likely to end up with a problem of plenty. At the end of the day, if you can get all ten of your best songs as ringtones, who wouldn’t want that? And more so because you can’t really use the same ringtone for too long, so you will need to keep changing tones, which means you’d better have a good stock of ringtones ready to go.

PocketMac Iphone ringtone creator

Got an Iphone and want some new kick ass tunes, well it may have been some time since apple added the ability to create custom Iphone ringtones in Itunes, and yes whilst this is a major step forward it does have 2 limitations. First you can only create ringtones from content you have bought, which is suppose is kind of fair, second you need to pay 99 cents for each customer ringtone you make, Doesn’t sound a lot but it will soon add up read on and we can show you how to make the same ringtone quickly and easily.

Enter PocketMac’s RingtoneStudio this nifty little piece of software allows you to make your own ringtone from almost any audio or video file on your Mac’s hard drive and even better its so easy to use.The only limitation is that the files must not be DRM protected (the downside to Itunes). To create your own customer ringtone is easy simply drag and drop a song, sound or video (even quicktime compatible video) file onto the ringtone studio window, testing this functionality we managed to convert a wide array of files quickly and easily. The only limitation we found was the DRM-protected files

Once you have loaded up your tune, video or sound then PocketMac Ringtone Studio for iPhone allows you to crop the source into a much smaller file which can easily be transfered to your Iphone. The PocketMac's cropping tool allows you to grab just the right section of audio for your personal ringtone. Depending on the length of your ringtone you will get different options if the sample is less than 30 seconds long then Ringtone studio will automatically converts the whole file into and iphone ringtone and places it neatly in your Itunes ringtone collection. If the sample is longer than 30 seconds then you get the option to clip out which ever 30 second section you wnat, again once selected the ringtones will be placed in Itunes, hopefully in a later version you will be able to clip longer and shorter lengths but as limitations go it wont casuse you too many issues.

If most of the music on your Hard drive has been purchased from the Itunes store then you may not find this tool too useful, as DRM-protected songs can only be converted by Itunes (at 99c a go) . But if you have plenty of good non protected music or videos then you can easily soon create a rather impressive range of ringtones for your iphone

Mobile phones have come a long way. The original starter of the mobile phone frenzy, the car phone, is a distant memory. Today’s phones allow for completely mobile calling without the wire and they are picket sized as well.

And, with the highly competitive mobile phone market, cheap mobile phones are much more readily available compared to their ancestors from back in the day, when mobile phones cost a lot more.

The popularity of cell phone accessories is prominent. Take decorative blings and charms for cell phones, they really illustrate the popularity of personalizing cell phones. With colorful faceplates, jewels and even lights there is something for everyone.

Most Popular Mobile Phone Accessories
Overall cell phone accessories are plentiful, from the functional to the cosmetic the selection is never short. There are two that seem to have reached the peak of popularity.

Ringtones
Ringtones hit the market by storm and continue to be one of the most sought after and most profitable parts of the mobile phone industry. Verizon ringtones, and most any model of cell phone ringtones are capable to not only play standard tones but alsto ringback tones that play a certain music selection for the caller instead of the standard ringing sound.

The introduction of real music tones, which makes it possible to download real mp3 music tracks to phones really plummeted the growth of the ringtone accessory, because most of any of the big music hits and chart toppers are available as ringtones, as well as, popular TV and movie themes. Ringtones turn cell phones into entertainment pieces.

Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth replaces cables by providing superb wireless technology. Originally the idea came from Ericson and has been developed by a ton of other companies. Bluetooth, which is a small cheap radio chip that provides for wireless technology for many devices.

It is a chip that carries signals via a special frequency to the target object, such as a cell phone, that would normally be transmitted via a cable or cord. Bluetooth technology has made cell phones a lot more functional.

Bluetooth mobile phone headsets are little gadgets that fit snug to the ear and when Bluetooth is used with a cell phone, the user need not touch the phone, but instead can leave it in their pocket and perform most of the mobile tasks by using the in-ear Bluetooth headset. Functions, including wireless answering and talking on the phone.
