Since it was launched in 2007, more than 50 million iPhones have been sold – an unprecedented number in the cell phone industry. It has broadened horizons to what cell phones are capable of and what they are used for. The iPhone 4 is claimed be the phone that will define the next generation of cell phones. So, does it live up to the hype? The first thing that you will notice about the iPhone 4 is the screen, which is a new 3.5 inch ‘Retina’ IPS LCD display. It boasts 326 pixels per inch and has an overall display resolution of 960 by 640 pixels. What does that mean in real terms? Well, it has a much higher resolution than any other cell phone currently on the market and provides the clearest images you will ever have seen on a mobile device. The annoying low battery alert will be heard far less often with the extended battery. The battery life equals seven hours of talk time (300 hours of standby), which is 40% more than the iPhone 3G. The iPhone 4 utilizes the same processor as the iPad. The processor equals or betters that of any other phone on the market and the difference is noteworthy. The operating system used is the iOS 4, which includes – for the first time – the ability to multitask. That means no more deciding whether to listen to music or check your email, as you will be able to do both, or anything else for that matter, at the same time. You can also create folders in iTunes and iBooks, which could not be done before. In fact, Apple claim that around 1500 features have been improved, modified and created in the new version of its OS, which is undoubtedly quite an improvement. The iPhone 4 possesses a camera that is leaps and bounds better than those used in previous iPhones. A 5.0 megapixel camera is found on the iPhone 4 and it is capable of recording video in HD at 720p. Apple obviously was tired of receiving complaints of the inferior cameras manufactured before. Also worthy of note is the inclusion of “Face Time.” It is the ability to place video calls, a feature that no other smartphone can claim. As for the price, it sells for around $200 on a 24 month contract in the US. Depending on who you buy it from, and which network operator you opt for, you may well be able to get yourself a better deal than that. Rather than just buying it from the first store that you see it in, why not try about a cell phone price comparison website first? The downloader has no way of knowing what they are getting until it’s too late.
Not all sites are like this though, over the last year or so a superior alternative has made itself known. There are now a few sites around where you join their membership for a fee and then get unlimited access to their downloads. These sites prove far safer and offer excellent value, and would definitely be recommended for their high speed and wide range.
