AT&T iPhones may have connectivity issues, but test outcomes indicate that iPhones on AT&T’s 3G network have faster connections than Verizon iPhones. In a examination of download and upload speeds, iPhones on AT&T’s 3G network were twice as fast on average than iPhones connected to Verizon’s 3G network. AT&T iPhones were faster, but iPhones on Verizon’s 3G networks had a far more reliable connection.

iPhone at AT&T better off than at Verizon

Several iPhone users have been excited to leave AT&T after all the dropped calls. Before switching to Verizon though, think about this a bit. When connecting to the Speedtest.net app, the numbers were looked at for both AT&T and Verizon iPhones by Ookla. The Verizon iPhones were half as fast as the AT&T iPhone data transfers. There were 42,000 AT&T iPhones and 14,000 Verizon iPhones around the United States in the Ookla speed results. Most iPhone users ran the Speedtest.net app several times to total 106,000 AT&T iPhone tests and 40,000 Verizon iPhone tests.

Reliability of the Verizon iPhone

About 1,768 kbps for downloads and 730 kbps for uploads was the speed for AT&T iPhones. The Verizon iPhone averaged 846 kbps for downloads and 606 kbps for uploads. Verizon iPhones are more dependable although AT&T iPhones may have a greater speed. Other independent reviewers reported that at times AT&T iPhones could not complete the test because they dropped the connection. The Verizon iPhone was noticeably slower however was able to maintain the connection through every examination. The businesses both know each others’ weaknesses. This is shown in the advertising wars. AT&T advertises as “the nation’s fastest 3G network.” Verizon touts “America’s Largest and Most Reliable Wireless Network.”

How you can pick the best iPhone

Think about how you’ll use your device probably the most before choosing between AT&T and Verizon for your iPhone. If media consumption is a priority, AT&T would be more satisfying. Several would prefer just to get something trustworthy. Go with Verizon then. In order to test an iPhone’s 3G network speed, the best way to do it’s with the Speedtest.net app. At the Apple App Store, the Speedtest.net app is there for free for the iPhone.

Get Full Bars On Your IPhone 4 By Putting It In An IPhone 4 Case.

There have been reports, literally thousands upon thousands of reports from customer regarding their iPhone 4 signal issues. The issues that everyone is reporting have to do with a total loss of signal and data service on the iPhone 4 while browsing the internet or making a call, and in some cases when the phone is just sitting and not in use.

Everything seems to point to the way you use your iPhone, or more specifically, the way you hold your iPhone. The iPhone 4 singal, or antenna problem. While it sounds absolutely ridiculous for such an amazing device, unfortunately it is true.I use my iPhone 4 more than the average cell phone user, some days spending up to 6 hours on the phone with customers, clients and friends. When the iPhone 4 is held in the most natural way in your hands, there is a complete and total loss of all signal from the antenna and even data is not available. The signal strength goes from full signal right down to just one single bar, or worse, no signal at all with the searching message and a dropped call as your end result.

Apple has been slow to address this issue, stating only that holding it in this way will show a drop in your signal, and that the signal bar issues will be fixed in an upcoming software update, and have to do with the signal strength not actually being correct.I do however find it very hard to believe that this alone is the cause for the dropped calls on the iPhone 4, despite it being the only thing Apple will say.

There is a quick fix out there for this issue, and it has to do with having an iPhone 4 case on your iPhone. With a case on your iPhone 4 you won’t experience any of the dropped calls or antenna issues no matter how you’re holding your phone. It just shows yet again that there is something very wrong with either the design or the materials used to make the iPhone 4 itself. To be honest with you I have always been a very firm believer in protecting any gadget I have, including my iPhone 4 by putting it in a case.  It’s an expensive investment, and spending $10.00 – $20.00 on a stylish case seems like common sense to me.I certainly don’t want scratches or scuffs on my iPhone 4, but that doesn’t take away from the problem I have with this whole signal issue going on with a brand new phone.

Gizmodo states that Apple may in fact be doing some type of a silent or unannounced recall on the iPhone 4 with certain customers.  Replacing their iPhone 4 with a replacement iPhone, and the issue does not seem to be present on most of these iPhone 4′s that customers are receiving. It’s very important that I state that this recall that everyone is talking about is currently just speculation and no more than a rumor. However a number of buyers have said that this issue is just not there on their replacement iPhone 4 units.  While others continue to have a problem, unless of course, they put their iPhone 4 back in an iPhone case again.
