Over the past few years mobile handset costs have come down, whilst the cost of monthly plans offered by the network providers has remained largely unaltered that said, you can get more free texts and minutes than you used to). So, the price of a mobile phone handset is proportionally less than it was when compared to the total price of a mobile contract. In the past mobile phone retailers would provide free handsets as an incentive for consumers to take out a contract. In fact, many would actually charge a fee for the mobile phone on top of the cost of the contract. Mobile phones were, at that time extremely expensive, {and often being} seen as a premium product or status symbol. Nower days with more common use and resulting economies of scale even the top mobile phones can be bought cheaply.

Strangely this causes a bit of a problem for mobile retailers who are trying to market mobile phone packages in terms of incentives to offer the customer. The result of this has been an increase in the number of different incentivised deals, such as mobile phones with a free broadband dongle, mobile phones a free televsion, mobile phones with automatic cashback, and most popular of all mobile phones with free laptops.

Laptop computers are another product that used to be very expensive, but due to more widespread use and the resulting mass production are now quite cheap. As laptops tend to date quickly, with a useful life that matches that of a mobile phone, the odds are that by the time your cell phone is out of date, your laptop computer will as well.

Hence mobile phones with free laptops have become the most sought after deals available at the moment. There are lots of different deals to choose from, but the most sought after are those offering budget laptops by manufacturers like HP, Acer, HP and Fujitsu Siemens. There are also an increasing number of Sony laptops available as they have moved into the low cost sector.

When trying to find a mobile with a free laptop the essential thing is to find out the cost of that laptop, and compare that to the other incentives on offer, in particular, find out whether there are any cash-back incentives offered on the contract. It could be that you can actually get a better deal if you take a cellphone with automatic cash-back, or a cash back by redemption deal and use the money to buy a laptop from a computer store.

Be sure to do some research on the laptop computers themselves. Consider looking at a few online stores that contain customer reviews. For example, there are many consumer reviews of laptops on Amazon and a range of other online retailers. Blogs and internet forums are other good sources of consumer reviews, but be mindful of the fact that a great number of these reviews are subjective, so make sure you read as many as you can for a complete picture of the product.

When researching which free laptop to choose, you will find there are many differences between the different manufacturers. For instance Acer make very well specified machines at low cost, but, the build quality is poor. Toshiba and Fujitsu Siemens laptops are usually of superior build quality, but are rarely as well specified as an Acer when comparing laptops of the same value. There are also some less well known brands available such as E-Machines which are very good value. The main pitfall to be aware of with the lesser known low cost makes is the type of C.P.U. installed. If possible stick to a machine that uses Intel or AMD processors as these C.P.U’s are the industry leaders and you are unlikely to encounter any problems when using these brands.

Whether you are looking for a new cellular phone, or a new laptop computer the incentivised mobile phone deals with free laptop computers are well worth looking at. There are many great deals out there, but, you do have to be prepared to do some background to find the best ones.
